On th 8th and 9th of June, Serralves will be open for 40 hours
straight , dedicated to the contemporary arts. “Serralves em Festa” will be
held for the 10th consecutive year and it will host shows, exhibitions and
cultural workshops, completely free.
“Serralves em Festa” will carry out two days to several forms of
artistic expression: dance, music, circus arts, plastic arts, theatre and
cinema. Serralves’ gardens will be invaded by several artistic styles led by
national and international artists.
On the music area, dozens of artista will be performing. The
highlight is the joint concert of Orquestra Jazz de Matosinhos with
WDR Big Band Cologne, two
sets that will play music with eachother, for the first time. The two “big
bands” will perform individually and, then, together, with a song written
especially for the event.
Through out the days there will also be performing Diamond Version, King Midas Sound and Duchess
Says, among others.
On the dance front, “Seralves em Festa” will include the project "Bodies in Urban Spaces", that deals with the relationship between the choreography and
the spaces. This iniciative will tranfer to the outside, also being presented
at Porto’s Downtown, on June 7th. ...
The contemporary circus will also be highlighted with the belgian
company “Okidok”, that brings the “Slips Inside” show, that combines
acrobatics, magic, mimic and dance. The circus company Jo
Bithume, in partnership with FITEI, will present “Traz Fusion”, a show that combines drums with
acrobatic dance.
The comtemporary art festival will also acommodate theatre, with
the plays Domícila Magic Show, wondergarden, Projecto Secreto, from the Company
Radar
360 and Imaginary Friends, a work achieved by
british Whalley
Range All Stars and the dutch company Babok.
Besides the shows, “Serralves em Festa” will have guided
tours to the exhibitions and the architectural spaces. During two days, there
will also take place cultural workshops to the all family. The entrance to the
festival is free and the visitors have the chance to win an helicopter ride
that will be given at every 10 thousand visitors. The Organization will also
provide free transportation from Rotunda da Boavista.
Nos dias 8 e 9 de junho, Serralves abre as portas para 40 horas
seguidas dedicadas às artes contemporâneas. A iniciativa "Serralves em
Festa" realiza-se pelo 10.º ano consecutivo e vai contar com espetáculos,
exposições e oficinas culturais, totalmente gratuitas.
"Serralves em Festa"
vai dedicar os dois dias a várias formas de expressão artística: dança, música,
artes circenses, artes plásticas, teatro e cinema. Os jardins de Serralves vão
ser invadidos por vários estilos artísticos protagonizados por artistas
nacionais e internacionais.
Na área musical, são dezenas os artistas que vão atuar. O destaque
vai para o concerto conjunto da Orquestra Jazz de Matosinhos com
a WDR Big Band Cologne, dois
conjuntos que vão "trocar" música entre si, pela primeira vez. As
duas "big bands" vão atuar individualmente e, depois, em conjunto,
com música escrita especialmente para a ocasião.
Ao longo dos dois dias de festa também vão atuar os Diamond Version, os King Midas Sound e
os Duchess Says, entre outros.
Na dança, "Serralves em Festa" vai contar com o
projeto "Bodies in Urban Spaces", que aborda a relação da coreografia com os espaços. Esta
iniciativa vai sair dos muros da Casa de Serralves e será também apresentada na
Baixa do Porto, a 7 de junho. Ainda na dança, destaca-se a peça coreográfica
"Experience #1", da artista alemã Isabelle Shad.
O circo contemporâneo estará, também, em destaque, com a companhia
belga "Okidok", que traz consigo o espetáculo "Slips
Inside", que conjuga acrobacia, magia, mímica e dança. A companhia
circence Jo Bithume, em parceria com
o FITEI, vai apresentar o "Traz Fusion", show que combina a
percussão e a dança acrobática.
O festival de arte contemporânea vai também contemplar o teatro,
com as peças Domícila Magic Show, wondergarden, Projecto Secreto, da
companhia Radar 360 e Imaginary
Friends, um trabalho realizado pelos britânicos Whalley Range All Stars e a companhia holandesa Babok.
Para além de espetáculos, "Serralves em Festa" vai
contar, ainda, com visitas guiadas às exposições e aos espaços arquitetónicos.
Durante os dois dias, vão também realizar-se oficinas culturais para toda a
família. A entrada no festival é gratuita e os visitantes habilitam-se a ganhar
uma viagem de helicóptero que será atribuída cada vez que se atinja os 10 mil
visitantes. A organização vai disponibilizar transporte gratuito a partir da
Rotunda da Boavista.
